Boots of the Forest
An idea for an AD&D v2 Druid Spell
Boots of the Forest (Alteration)
Level: 2
Range: Touch
Duration: Special
Area of Effect: None
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 turn
Saving Throw: None
Explanation/Description: Casting this spell creates a pair of boots from natural materials found in the immediate environment. Tree bark, vines, roots, feathers, fur, etc. The boots fit the caster perfectly but they will fall apart immediately if someone else tries to wear them.
When praying for the spell, the caster must select one of the following types of boots and they may only have one pair in existance at a time.
Forest Boots provide quiet movement in any natural, above ground, setting; granting the wearer a 5% chance to move unheard per level of the caster. They will only last for one day before falling apart into their original components.
Boots of the Herd allow the wearer to run with a herd of animals, keeping up in speed and endurance. Deer, cattle, sheep, horses, wolves, any animals that run together as a herd or pack. These boots will last for one hour per level of the caster.
Boots of Durability will last for one month per level of the caster. They provide a +1 on saving throws for any movement related problems: moving on ice, or a steep pebbly slope, etc. They also prevent any attacks that specifically target the feet, like caltrops or thin layers of acid on the ground, although the boots themselves may need to make a saving throw or be destroyed.
